The greatest
service which an be rendered any country is to add a useful plant to its culture.
Thomas Jefferson
If you are a black thumb like me, you will somehow end up killing every plant you touch. This is a simple step-by-step guide for people like us. I’ve written this guide based on my own wheatgrass growing experience, and if I can do it, so can anyone else!
One question I get asked a lot is whether it’s worth the hassle in growing and juicing wheatgrass? Absolutely! Consider this simple truth: We are what we eat. So why not eat the best nature has to offer?
Wheatgrass is a miraculous super food. Wheatgrass juice will boost your energy levels by fulfilling nutritional deficiencies and by removing wastes that clog your cells, blood, tissues, and organs. It’s the perfect counterbalance to the highly processed food that is part of our standard diet.
Wheatgrass is a complete food. Its nutritional structure is very close to that of our body; it contains all of the necessary vitamins, minerals and protein that our body needs. 20 ml of wheatgrass juice is the nutritional equivalent of over one kg of fresh fruit and vegetables.
It’s a shame that so few people have tried this gift of nature, held back for fear that they may dislike the taste, that it’s too difficult to grow, or that it’s too expensive to buy a wheatgrass juicer. I’ll do my little bit to dismantle these fears, starting with this little book. This book is based on my own personal experience and also based on books such as The Wheatgrass Book by Ann Wigmore. Obviously, you may need to adapt some of the techniques to suit your own needs. Happy juicing!
